The One Red Thread Textile Art Exhibition started in 2012.

Each year the exhibition offers you the opportunity to create and submit a piece of your work along a theme.

The theme for ORT2026 is "RepaiRED"


Your ORT2026 could be selected for display in Nantes, France in April 2026

& at the Craft and Quilt Fairs in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane


ORT2026 is a non-acquisitive competition & exhibition.

The Exhibition is:

  • Open to fibre, thread & textile creatives
  • Accepts entries representing any use of fibre, threads & textiles & encourages you to explore traditional & non-traditional practices
  • the focus of this textile art prize & exhibition is Colour, Composition, Creativity & Craftsmanship
  • Textiles encompasses fibre, thread, stitching, quilting, embroidery & includes fabric, fibre, felt, wool, wire, paper & metal
  • Enter the Title of your work in the 'Note to Seller' text box when checking out

Conditions of Entry
  1. Finished size: no larger than 30cm square
  2. Your work must include something red 
  3. Do not mount your work or place under glass
  4. If you decide to make your item dimensional: no deeper than 2cm & 500g in weight
  5. Due to quarantine restrictions your work cannot contain unprocessed animal or plant materials
  6. On-line registration/entry form
  7. A non-refundable entry fee of $30.00
  8. A progress photo can be posted to your social media; please tag @textilefest
  9. Entries must be finished within the last 12 months & be your original work
  10. Works to be received by 16 March 2026
  11. Judging & prizes will be awarded at the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair in June, 2026
  12. A label with your name, address, phone number & email must be securely attached to the back of your work
  13. Postage & Handling for returns: please include self-addressed stamped packaging for return, otherwise I will organise a PayPal invoice for return postage
  14. Textilefest reserves the right to keep the exhibition for a minimum of 12 months
  15. You are responsible for your own insurance for loss or damage
  16. Your entry may be photographed & used for advertising, editorial, website, Facebook & Instagram
  17. Liability: although all care is taken you accept that you are entering your work at your own risk
  18. If your entry is sourced or inspired by another artwork that source must be acknowledged and permission secured from the artist and or the copyright holder
  19. Textilefest bears no responsibility or liability if your work contravenes copyright
  20. Submitting the on-line entry form signifies your agreement with the conditions of entry
